The annual Eddie Gilbert Cup is happening again. This is an annual competition between WPC Cricket and the QLD Police.

The teams will go head to head in a T20 match at the Eddie Gilbert Memorial Field at Wolston Park on Sunday 11th November at 8:30am to 1.00pm with a BBQ lunch/cold drinks afterwards.

If interested in playing, seniors and older junior players are welcome to call Greg White on 0423022230 as soon as possible. This is a free event for all who participate.

So who was Eddie Gilbert?

87 years ago Eddie Gilbert was etched into cricket folklore with a cracking spell against Sir Donald Bradman. Eddie Gilbert spent the final years of his life as a patient at the Wolston Park mental hospital.  In 2014 the Wolston Park Turf Field was renamed Eddie Gilbert Memorial Field in his honour.
