Girls Cricket
WPC Cricket Club is excited to be developing girls cricket within the club and has been able to field at least 1 team in recent seasons. The key objectives are to encourage girls to participate in cricket, to have fun and to be able to have all girl teams with a competition of their own. We are working on growing participation by girls in our club.
Our girls team(s) participate(s) in the Chelmer Cricket Competition, an all girls teams competition against other clubs within the district. This program runs on a Friday evening. Teams are formed based on skills following Cricket Australia’s Junior Pathway as below.
Besides the all-girls competition, there is also the option for girls new to cricket to participate in the Blaster program for an introduction to cricket.
The summer season runs in the school 4th term and 1st term , so early October to early December with the school holiday break and resumes late January through to late March. Some pre-season and team selection activities are run in August and September.
