WPC News - April 2025

New WPC Members - Welcome to new members who have joined the club recently.  We hope you enjoy your experience with WPC and wish you every success with your games or other WPC activities. 

Winter Cricket – We have registered 1 Senior team, 1 U15, 1 U13 and 2 U12 teams in the Warehouse competition.  The Warehouse competition commences 3 & 4 May & concludes by 31 August. We are also registering an U10 team in a competition hosted by Holland Park Cricket Club.  This competition runs from 3 May - 14 June (7 weeks) and 12 July - 23 August (7 weeks).

Registrar,  Youth Cricket Manager, Director of Coaching – Volunteer Changes

Harsha Chada will be appointed as the new Registrar when Chaminda Divitotawela resigns in November 2025.  Harsha will work with Chaminda from now on to get the handover especially during the peak period of the summer season start up in August.

Joseph Maher will to be appointed as the Youth Cricket Manager starting 1 May 2025 with a short handover from Ruban Kasinathan and support from Ruban and Anu Perera Cricket Operations Manager with the summer season start up in August. 

Ruban Kasinathan will be continuing on as the Director of Coaching 

Thanks to the Harsha, Joseph and Ruban for putting up their hands to volunteer for the club.

WPC Celebration – Presentation Day - Thanks to everyone who attended or helped with the organisation before, during and after the event.  It was a great day to bring our cricket family together and celebrate our achievements over the past 12 months.

Thanks to the Heritage Bank for their grant of $3,525.20 which covered most of the cost of the trophies for the event.

Trophies/Medallions – if you were not able to attend the Presentation Day and pick up your trophy or medallion then a date will be set in the near future for members to come to the Wolston Park club house to collect these.

Next General Meeting – This will be held on Friday 9 May at 6pm at Wolston Park (with a Teams option).  Agenda items will include reviewing our summer season and discussing winter cricket.  Please mark your calendar and plan to attend.
